... and nothing happens LOL !

Well ... there is a lot of stuff going on but obviously not on this blog :o(.
I´m really sorry guys but I am in the middle of moving my studios into a new location Then there is this Eurovision thingy and I´m also quite busy with some new projects in the UK I got involved with.

But then there is loads of stuff going on … Cascada (http://cascada-music.de/ ) is doing great in the US. DJ Dusty has an exclusive interview up and running (WebDJ´s: http://www.webdjs.ch/index1.htm ), I receive tons of e-mails every week (sorry for responding so slow ;o) and then there is this funny Eurovision thingy coming up.

In regards to that … LOL … “What´s up with that old / fat dude hanging out with ich Troje ?”
I have to admit … my performance was embarrassing … it´s been a long time since I did my last public performance … and this is obviously to see. On top … I look kinda like a “child abuser” …

Well folks … I´m working on the “weight” issue … since I can not change that much about the “getting old” issue LOL. I hope I will get my act together for the semi finals and present a better performance … so my family don´t have to be too embarrassed ;o)

Another thing … those guys, that running around at the moment in the US to sell the new and improved “Real McCoy” with Marcel & Trixie, obviously do have a leek. I already found one of the new tracks in the internet … it is a remix of the original recording. Besides that … rumor has it … that they are still trying to shop a deal … by now: targeting the smaller labels since the majors passed on the music. Good luck tho !

Now … I don´t know when I will find time to set up the new material and the next chapters … but I will try my best that it won´t be next summer ;o)

Because of a post of “rynchan” in the Eurodance World Forum of EuroDanceHits.Com, I got noticed that there was this production of Stock / Aitken / Waterman, that incorporates a sample of one of my raps from the “Pump up the jam - Rap Version” from 1989.

It was used in Tatjana´s “Santa Maria” Song. The track was first released back in 1995 and last re-released (with new mixes) in 2003. I guess S/A/W and M.C. Sar are even now ;o) I only mentioned this, because recently I discovered where Ritchie got his inspiration for “It´s on you” from. There is this song from Rick Astley (Take me to your heart) that was released around 1989/90. The intro part, was without a doubt the source of Ritchies inspiration for the intro of “It´s on you”. Well, it was also a source of inspiration for the british band “Inner City”, since S/A/W claimed the music from Take Me To Your Heart was stolen by Inner City for their Big Fun single.

At the end, Tatjana´s “Santa Maria” Single was disqualified from the UK charts, due to allegations of chart hyping. As far as it is known, the allegations were false ;o)

Like I mentioned in one of the earlier posts ... once in a while I will drop some add-on´s here and there in this blog. One of them is not really related to the “Real McCoy”, but somehow it is because it was the first record were you can find the name “Real McCoy” in the credits. This is the release back from 1988 when I worked with Michael Schaeumer, on the legendary Berlin “Big Sex” label, that later transformed into the even more legendary “Tresor Records” label. The track will be an exclusive download in “The Vault”, although it is really not worth it. Well, it is always good for a big laugh !!! ;o)

There was a radio DJ called “Monika Dietl” (she was a friend of mine and made a couple of interviews with us), Monika had a boyfriend, his name was “Michael Schaeumer”. He was also working as a DJ and Musician. It happened that we hooked up and made an edit for a special mix of one of our releases (The Deep – Behind the curtain). While we was at it we came up with the idea to record on one of his tracks (under his a.k.a. “Discomo”) a little bit of my rap vocals. We did the whole thing in an evening session, a couple of days later in his home recording studio. It was a very weared, acid driven tune. I added some simple rap verses and the thing was done. For the credits I picked … (drums please!) … The Real McCoy. There it was … the first time I used that name. I still got a copy of the record in my archive.

If you do remember, I was having this little black book since my NYC trip in 83. Well I still had it and … one thing leaded to another and in a long tradition of mine I put a new name in the loop. Then came the call from ZYX about the Rap-Version of “Pump up the jam”.
